In wizards first rule by Terry Goodkind. Richard, a common woods guide stumbles upon a woman being chased by a group of men. Kahlan and Richard battle the men and kill them. Later in the book Richard is named the seeker of truth by his friend and now known wizard Zed. Richard Kahlan and Zed travel to a far away land to find an evil dictator who is trying to rule the world. At the end if their travels Richard kills the evil lord Darken Rahl. Once Rahl is killed, Richard learns that rahl is his father. I think the tone of this story is an upbeat adventurist mood.
Characterization :
Richard: throughout the story Richard grows from being a woods guide too a leader and warrior.
Using the sword of truth and the magic that comes with it. Richard is unbeatable and ferocious, nicknamed the bringer of death by enemy soldiers.
Kahlan amnell: Kahlan grows a lot from the beginning of this story, she is a confessor. Which is the highest form of magic in the world. Kahlan soon starts to fall in love with Richard. But hides her power from him in fear that he will be afraid of her power.
